Always Begin At The End

Diana Shpungin, Always Begin At The End, 2022
Custom printed pencils.  Gifted to visitors.
Edition of 500

A minimalist, square arrangement of silver pencils custom printed with the exhibition title are displayed and guests to the exhibition are encouraged to take one in the spirit of Cuban-born American artist Felix Gonzales-Torres’s works of generosity.  As the pencils are sharpened the title changes and the words are slowly lost, eventually leaving only “End” before disappearing completely.
